I suspect you are right. Looking through the rear wheel on the pic that it is leaning, I think I see the driveshaft.

And now that I think about it, parked next to the Boulevard everyday at work is a VTX1300. I knew I recognized something about it, but couldn't quite pinpoint it.

I rode a friends honda 450 twin a bit, the PO had fitted a fat rim and fat, flat profile tire.

I could *make it* corner as well as any other bike tire I've ever ridden on, but the effort was large, and it was not a good feeling. The effort and feedback sharply changed getting it up onto and off of the corner of the profile.

I think the greatest drawback was if you had to maneuver quickly. Would not be pretty.
