Then a stop at the Parson's Branch exit from Cade's Cove.

Light traffic on the way over and I turned around at the overlook at mile marker 9. It was getting busy on the way back with the Miatas at the Gap out riding the Dragon.

Fail photos on US129photos and Killboy's will be available soon.
The wife and I rode through there yesterday at around 1300 hours. We also saw a bike in the road (badly damaged). I was told it hit a Mazda Miata that came into his lane

My stock street tires sucked on the stream crossings.

You rode Parson's Branch on street tires? Wow, I had trouble there when I rode it several week ago on my Ural using two wheel drive at times.
I needed 2WD on two of the grades.

Yep, I was getting nervous on the Dragon yesterday when all the Miatas starting showing up so I slowed down. They were running wide over the double yellow.

I heard about a bad crash on the Cherohala Skyway yesterday. Usually I just hear about the NC crashes from my friend at the Thunder Mountain Store who listens to his scanner. He doesn't get the the scanner radio traffic from TN.

Some of the steep grades were a pain in the ass ....mostly because my wife was riding with me.

About NC mile marker 7?

He, a Canadian, was none responsive according to his riding buddies that stopped at the Thunder Mountain General Store after the crash. His wife was riding behind him on her motorcycle when he crashed into a guard rail while passing on a curve on the Cherohala Skyway.

I heard he was airlifted to Asheville which seems odd since most go to Knoxville's trauma center.

That is odd if he was taken to Asheville, as you know most go to UT or Blount Memorial.

Linzi and I saw a Miata with the front all crumpled in at Butler's on the way home yesterday. Looked like a Miata funeral with all the other Miatas clogging the parking lot and ten or fifteen "members" standing around looking at the car. I'm sure there was more than on Miata towed out yesterday though.

And remember, if it weren't for Tennessee them Texans would be speaking Spanish. Well, more Spanish than they already do.

I was about 3 minutes behind the Miata, motorcycle wreck.
I think the motorcycle and rider went over the car.
Looked like right side windshield took a huge hit.

Honda Rune... or is it a Ruined Valkyrie?

Stylish bike, no idea how it goes. Guess it's the Japanese version of a Dong?

We lost a friend last year in NC. If I understand correctly the deceased are not allowed to leave the state until an autopsy is performed. That might explain why he didn't go to Knoxville.
