I can only imagine this guy has a restraining order to stay 300 yds away from schoolyards and daycare centers.

I know it is a joke, but more miatas are raced any given weekend than any other car make. I had an instructor at an autocross one time with a spec miata prepped car, that guy was insane.

Fuck it, this is the internet and I can post what I want.

Then post a funny cat video,

First time I ever had to deploy the towing eye bolt on my VW Jetta it took me a few tries to realize it was a left-hand thread. Pretty frustrating sitting there in the snow and sub-zero temps trying to figure out why I couldn't get it to thread in. Why the fuck would an engineer decide to use a left-hand thread in that application? Is it some sick German sense of humor, or are they all that way for some reason?

I don't know, there is a cult item "Hello Kitty" vibrator, that women of all ages laugh and then say, "I want one."

Didn't know that, but not too surprised. I had a bud that campaigned a Datsun B210 successfully in SCCA for a while. It was a combination of the class rules and the cost of the car that drove his selection, not that the B210 was a badass.

Yeah not saying the MX-5 is badassed, but it is a affordable roadster with very good handling. So like you said, it is driven by cost and class rules, though I am sure if you asked many of the racers would praise the car.

Yup, I'm tracking with you. I freely admit to being a little biased against convertables in general. Probably in part because I live in Houston where we get maybe four weeks of roadster weather a year. But also because cutting off the top of a car really screws up the rigidity, and then to fix it they weld in a bunch of braces, adding weight. Why not just put (or leave) a top on the car?

I'm not a Miata hater - it's just a really small car with pretty small power - probably why it's seen as a chick car.

Miata was designed without a top. Having no roof did not compromise anything.

Just because you do not understand the draw of a light and nimble roadster does not mean others do not. Miatas are viewed as chick cars by people who cannot drive fast in the twisties, but can only mash the gas and go straight.

P.S. I do not own a Miata but I want one because I love going quickly in the twisty stuff. YMMV.
