Not to stir the pot, but having driven a few older BMWs rather consistently (most notably a 740 and a 525) I can see exactly why anyone would want the 135. Small car, lightweight, much more fun to throw around corners, enough power to get in trouble, but no so much that it is impossible to have fun without getting a performance award.

Also, the whole line has moved up a size. The 5-series are basically old 7 series, but with more power. The 135 is the modern take on the original m3, which is one of the top driver's cars of all time.

I know BMW make the gs and rt, amongst few others, but 740, 525?

This! I lusted after a 1 series the entire time I lived in Germany. They finally released it for the US market, but didn't give us the hatchback! I'd love a 135 hatch for my daily driver.

Depends where you're at in your driving career. If you're still at "need ABS and traction control to survive", then yes, I agree with you. If you've moved on to "I can handle that, it's no worse than Grattan after a bad rainstorm", then no. Most definitely NO.

There is a difference between wanting a fast nice car and wanting a nice fast car.

I rented this last year in Portugal. It was a turbo-diesel. Great car!

All depends on the corner. If that is a 180 or more... then the apex is about right.
