By the way...

Dakez, To a great extent, I agree with you.
I'm not in favour of a nanny state and don't want the gov't intruding into my bedroom.

But by the same token, I know that many people can't take responsibility for themselves and if we don't speak up for those upon whom they may have a direct effect, who will? And how responsible are we for not doing so?

Who gets to decide who can speak for themselves and who can't? Who is this group of "we" that I'm being assigned to?

Who said you were being "assigned" to the we group?

Back to the pictures boys.
Much easier to point out the "fail..."

Point taken. Probably important to get as many layers of obfuscation in there as possible. Wouldn't want any responsibility to be accepted for anything anywhere.

Sorry.
I just find it ironic that a citizen of a democratic republic with a constitution that begins with "We the People" would need to ask "Who is this group of "we" that I'm being assigned to?"

No, I am Not kidding. The kids do not belong to the public... They belong to their parents. This does not mean that there should be no laws to protect them, such as laws against abuse. I am even OK with the "Feet must Reach the Pegs" law. But parents are the ones that should decide and weigh the risks for their own children. I did say "overbearing Laws"

Doesn't choose to extend this right to those who either don't have a voice, or those too young to make the decision for themselves.

The problem is.... since some don't have the intelligence, maturity or awareness to responsibly protect their own lives, how can they possibly make a life/death/risk decision for someone else?
Stupid hurts.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing.....or we would have all taken turns bashing our heads into something hard while wearing it to test it's effectiveness......

As for the pictures....this is SandyTheDog....she rode over 50,000 miles on the pillion of my friend Bill's bike. She absolutely loved riding with as much of a passion as anyone. Unfortunately she past away last year (not bike related).

in my case, it made you (me) into pellet gun target practice.

btw, some kids can actually miss a helmet sized target from 10 feet away and hit you in the neck instead.

on a related note, needle nose pliers work great for digging pellets out of your neck...

Got it. You're serious.
"But by the same token, I know that many people can't take responsibility for themselves and if we don't speak up for those upon whom they may have a direct effect, who will? And how responsible are we for not doing so?"

So, everyone has to act as a unit?

Took a ride to the Dragon today on my W650. More cars than bikes on the road.

Stopped at the way out of Cade's Cove for a quick photo. Little chilly but a nice ride.

I would ride down to Southern Pines for one of those...
You got any left?
