I wear my gear. My choice.

I see people do stupid stuff I would never do. Their choice.

See it as a best practice.
I respect your opinions and choices. You're overcomplicating this particular discussion. The guy in the pic (IMO) is a dumbass. That might or might not be debatable. He's breaking the law. that's why I expressed the hope that he got an intimate conversation with someone with a badge. The badgemen will readily solicit your monetary contribution for breaking the speed limit on the gap or creative passing behavior. I want this du.. gentleman to get the full Dragon Experience.

Living in a black or white world must so boring.

Every "dangerous" sports/activities have security systems and protocols. F1 drivers don't ride buck naked on the track for God's sake! I don't think we can claim that they drive slow.

My take is that the dude is showing poor judgement, but OTOH, is what he IS wearing much different than what he USUALLY wears?

Not sure if we are agreeing or not. I could not care less about how someone chooses to jump out of a plane unless it is a very close friend or relative, and then, I would tend toward respecting and defending their decision. To do otherwise is to swing wide the door to oppression,

I am well aware of the speed limit and Rangers. I am on the Parkway about 5 times a year, and have made the round trip in 2009.

Rode the whole 469 miles at 50 to 65 mph and never saw the first Ranger.
First time that I never saw a rain drop on the Parkway.

I'll save you the effort. I wear a helmet when I skydive for the exact same reasons I wear one on a motorcycle. The ground hurts.

In case this happens?

All eleven people involved survived. Gotta think the helmets helped out with that.

But the day he'll crash, the day he'll be all fucked up and poor as a church mouse because of him exercising his freedom, let me guess that on a forum somewhere someone will start a thread about supporting this poor guy.

Sure, let's talk about freedom.
Who says he'll crash? Who says he'll be injured if he does? And how do you know he doesn't carry a sufficient insurance policy? Or are you just blowing smoke out of your ass cause you're not as pretty as he is?
