That's not Deals Gap. If you want to start a West Coast Failfest thread there's plenty of material.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled Deals Gap failfest...

I do agree that heavy crusiers have a lot less ground clearance, and because of that it is even more important to use good body position to make up for it. The only time to give up trying is AFTER you crash, up until that point there is still a chance to make the turn.

Watch the video close, he actually counter leans, making the bike drag parts it should never be dragging, even the bike behind him had no problem at that speed, His skills are very lacking.

A little earlier, and he could have gone over the railing and into the ravine......

Looks to me like his right foot makes contact with the road and it makes him panic...

He was center on the seat and his head and shoulders were leaning back to center his set up and entry are way off and he is flat footed on the pegs. Looks like me at the track, the difference is I do it at the track. No rock walls to hit!

Do a still frame, his upper body is about 15 degrees to the left of the center line of the bike as he starts the turn, You can also see his foot position, he is not on the balls of his feet and his foot is dragging.

I don't even see him lose it exactly. I think he went in too hot, and was more afraid to push it further, fixated, and went into the wall. Thankfully nobody was coming the other way, more for their safety than his.

No point in an East vs West comparison. Both have plenty of stupid. I guess the biggest difference is that a lot of the cruiser crowd on the West coast tends to stay away from the hot sportbike areas. They seem content to hit the bar on the outskirts and stay there.

He stopped riding it after he crossed the line. Crappy just about everything. Looked like target fixation to me.

+1 what JVB said. Looks like his attention shifts to the classic Corvette and people and on the opposite shoulder and he rode where he looked.
