YES?

NO?

Do you really want an inspection every time you leave the house?
The little girl could have fallen off the slide at the playground, been kidnapped or crashed her bike instead of having a blast with mom.

Does every no gear rider crash and die?
Does every ATGATT rider survive every crash?
Seatbelts weren't standard equipment until the 60s airbags didn't come along until the 90s. How did anyone live?

Horseback riding is more dangerous than motorcycle riding, skiing, football, and rugby.

You are kidding right? The girl is holding on to the strap that is provided to hold on to. Just what is it that makes you think she is too young?

Perhaps CPS is doing what they should be doing. Going after the idiots that physically abuse children.

What accident?

Why can't you mind your own business?

Just be quiet, right or wrong is irrelevant. Take all that less government, more government shit out of here, what is so difficult?

+1

A few years ago, I spotted a father taking his little girl out for a ride on his cruiser. The only protection on the girl was a brain bucket (wasn't even DOT approved). After seeing them, I kept repeating to myself "Mind your own business... mind your own business...."

But I couldn't....

I turned around and followed them until they stopped (about a mile down the road). I approached the guy, explained that I believed in personal liberty and he has a right to raise his kid anyway he sees fit. Then, I started explaining how the helmet she had on wouldn't protect her in a crash and thanked him for listening to me.

He shook my hand and thanked me for pulling over.

Looks to me like she is holding on. If you look at the front of the pillion seat, you'll see the strap that's there just for that purpose. If this size is too small, click the picture for hi-res.

This whole thing is pissing me off to no end. Parents get to decide how to raise their kids. If you don't like it, go play in traffic or something. That's only a suggestion as it's my way of dealing with stress

Dad was left to run the ranch for a few weeks when he was around 10 or 12 if I remember correctly. Kids used to be able to climb trees and such without people worrying about two safety ropes, a helmet, and knee/elbow/etc. pads. And somehow we survived.

Reading all this ranting about how people shouldn't be allowed to judge what their kids will or won't wear in different situations, I wonder how far the people in favor of restricting the parents would be willing to go and if they'd take the same treatment in return in other areas of child rearing. Should the government monitor and approve all the food your kids eat? Please don't tell me you feed them fattening BS like pizza and sugary cereals! You mean you let Junior have a donut And how about mandatory gloves and scarves for anyone under 18 if the temperature drops below say 40 degrees?

Just where do you draw the line?

I have better things to do.

The point was "they CAN pull you for any BS reason if they want".

I assume jail would follow the arrest.

A traffic stop is an arrest where you are released on a summons instead of taking you to jail. In this particular case, lemieuxmc is proposing an unlawful arrest since no crime is being committed.

Having CPS take your kids away because someone disagrees with your chosen legal sport/hobby is probably worse than an arrest.
