I've searched and searched for validation of this. The only place I see it mentioned is in several links to Ron and Nancy's site "tail of the dragon," where I can't find anything about it.

If trucks are "banned" then it must only be along the Nantahala portion, but still that's just silly.

earlier in this thread there are links to news stories on it and somewhere there is a picture of a very large sign that says No Trucks.

There is also a sign on US129 just before 143 splits off toward the Cherohala, because they are allowed on 129 in the town of Robbinsville where 143 heads north until it splits off west. The map isn't very clear on that.

Bold black are the no trucks over 30' zone.

There may be signs banning trucks but I have heard that they are not enforcing it.

Ordinance number is on the bottom of the sign.

http://www.ncdot.gov/travel/statemap...uckrestrix.pdf

And if you're interested in reading the emails from the guy who was instrumental in getting the signage placed, here you go: http://slayerhater.blogspot.com/2011...utta-here.html

That wasn't Ron and Nancy, DGMR, Killboy, or any of the others that used my picture, who got the signage up, it was a concerned citizen with no financial motive. He's not looking for credit, but plenty of others seem eager to take credit for his work.

I think you're right. I've seen him in AR on the Pig Trail (Hwy 23). Maybe he calls somewhere around AR home especially since he has all the Hog stickers. I doubt that he trailered it to the picture site.
