Not that you were talking about me, but as I'm looking at pics of bikes, many driven by guys, one could say that I am looking at pics of guys on bikes, which could be simplified further to be looking at pics of guys. But to get back on point, I don't like seeing guys on bikes without gear. So is that the same thing as liking it when I see guys on bikes with gear? PUI

Oh, look. I ban't say my "B"s.
Some might say that you don't really know where your limit is until you exceed it. I would tend to agree with that. Choice of location where you find this is a different topic. It's certainly not infrequent at this one.

It's a form of a thing called "projection", where you superimpose your own thoughts and ideals onto somebody else and thence infer what what this "other person" is thinking or will do etc. In this, you project what you would do in a given situation onto somebody else, completely disregarding the actual thoughts and ideals of the other person.

In your case, when you are looking at these guys, geared up or not, you are really looking at yourself. Or, rather, you are projecting yourself into their situation, wondering what it would be like to be on that bike and in that corner and in that situation. So you're not looking at other guys, you are looking at yourself, picturing yourself where this other person is. Some times wanting to be there when the picture is a good one, like a leaned over bike with knee dragging and head turned into the corner, and some times not wanting to be there when the picture is bad, like they are sliding down the road.

You are not "checking out the guys". You're projecting.

Don't tell me that....I'll be there next Friday.

You rode that old Briar track too? Bit of a difference from then when you look at the present day speedway.

Now back to our regularly scheduled fail-fest.

So, once you get a cruiser dirty, it has to be towed home?
Powered by the shine of the chrome I suppose.

Maybe the attached pudding bowl didn't work as expected and another vehicle with red flashy lights took him to the headache clinic.

Just as I chuckle at the guys who go "full branding" with their bike-brand pirate/Power Ranger swag, I wince when I see a rider who puts no thought at all into coordinating their gear, bike and style. Good God men, you're public ambassadors for the incomparable joy and crushing beauty of motorcycle riding-- exercise some self-respect and show some dignity!
