Aren't "people" the ones encroaching on the animals "natural Eco-System"? I'm no tree hugger, but there's a lot more people I'd like to be designated as fair game than some animals.

The wild pigs we have here in the Southeast are not an indigenous species. They reproduce like crazy, destroy crops and tear up the forests.

Feral hogs can be hunted without restriction in most counties of NC EXCEPT the mountain counties of Western NC. In those counties they are called wild boar and are considered a game animal with a hunting season. But they cause so much damage that the season is often ignored by local landowners.
