kaw 90 charging?

I have a pretty nice 72 kaw 90 streetbike (dont know the model).
It doesnt seem to be charging correctly. It has a new battery which according to my DVM shows about 6.25V with key off. As soon as I start it sometimes it will jump to 6.4 range but within a few seconds falls below battery voltage & continues to drop. And it may even go lower if I rev it up.
Any thoughts on where I can find wiring diagramn & diagnostic help?

Sounds like a G3 90SS, probabally an orange tank or maybe red ('for '73?). It's basically the same as the 100 trail or street. It may have a regulator but I don't remember, try to get a clymer or better yet a shop manual. They're still around.

Also some of the guys on Kaw triple forum may be able to point you in the right direction.
