My 89. Had so much fun building it that when I got the first rock chip I never took it off road again. Got a 640ADV for that.

Now that is the right idea!!! How does it handle, Dave? When tuned right, those little Hawk motors are real darn sweet. My bro had a souped-up Hawk at one point in time and it was sooo nice to unwind it.

A friend of mine called me to say he found the perfect bike for me, a '89 Honda Transalp. "A 89? hell that's old" I said.
He said it's the Toyota Land Cruiser of bikes, tough, well built, its what you are looking for.
I did a search read up on them & asked a friend that's been a Honda guy for ever.
I found one in PHX, I love this bike.
I added the crash bars & Pelican case on the rear.
Got to use the bars yesterday, twice I dumped it in soft deep dirt.
Looking forward to miles of riding & backroad trips. When I'm not doing that in the Land Cruiser.

Have about 300 photos from the trip. Mostly I take a shot of the GPS, but not now, strange?!?

Col de la Bonette, French Alps. Great ride up there.

Here's my '89. Unfarkled for now. Going to add Givi guards and maybe some panniers when the contra fund grows a bit. Am having a blast with the TA. Especially when local riders stop by my office and go 'what is that'?
