The problem is all those dirt roads seem to be private roads on ranches. Most of the stuff non-land owners are supposed to be using are straight as an arrow and paved.
Actually there are some cool roads that look private, cross cattle guards, real open range stuff, but they are public roads. There's one that takes you through the JA ranch, right by the historic headquarters.

This state park is about 15 miles north of Grey Mule Cemetery.

This is a great tag. It'd be a long single day but a great two day trip, maybe three with some detours to the parks.

Just had my knee 'scoped. Need another week or two to get it functional enough to make that ride.

Nice buried clue - but I think everyone knows where it is.

There are several states that are closer to me than that tag.

Hell, there's more likely a foreign country that's closer to you than this tag.

Heading to Veracruz June 15. Might swerve through the DF. Maybe move
that tag a bit south for me?

It's a nice day for a ride boys. Except for a strong north wind and a redish brown haze of blowing dirt.

Actually, CapRock Canyon State Park is one of the prettiest places to camp in all of north Texas and the panhandle, and it's only about 5 hours from DFW. It would make a GREAT weekend trip. My wife and I hiked all over it last time we were there. I think it's better than Palo Duro.......
