now in a cage...
|
as with most of my rides, do to work i was up all the night before, and feeling like a kid before christmas syndrome, sleep never really happened. by 6:45 im up for good. by 7:30...
![]() by 9:15, im in l.a. via 15 to 91 to 71 to 10 to 5 (~85 miles). if you see these bikes together, get ready for trouble... ![]() the route we decided to take was 5 to 14 to 58 to calente bodfish (~200 with side jonts). ![]() craving tacos or need gear? (chocolate dipped ice cream was the thing of the moment though). ![]() mojave wind sucks if you dont know alreadly, i really hope that klr250 didnt have to deal with this stuff. at points i was doing 50 on a 65 road only because a 40 mph head wind was over powering the 20 hp motor. along the 58 we stopped at a gas station for gas, ended up there was no power so no gas. im start snaping pictures and our dual sport ride... ![]() was turned into a harley ride... ![]() then calente bodfish... ![]() the trains... ![]() and the cows... ![]() and that wonderfully 38 mile, twisty road that drops you into the lake... ![]() and after that, beer and fire, cortusy of bob. thanks for all you did this weekend . ![]() next day i was up early to ride, but it did seam like everyone else was on the same page. mike and bob had be talking about single track they wanted to take me and razr on. getting probally unneeded gas (wanted to weigh down the competition i guess). ![]() funny dog wanted to play fetch. ![]() we did a bit of slab to some dirt roads. this criss crossed a stream that was lucky low for my holey boots. this lead to a smaller dirt road that quickly turned to 2 track and finally tight single track. charles charging some tuff sections. ![]() yes we are going up that rock section. ![]() gives you an idea of how steep some sections where. ![]() this made a good shot. ![]() ![]() time for a break, this stuff wears you out. ![]() razr having a time. ![]() top of the trail, now to the down side. ![]() ya its tight. ![]() this seam to be a favorite once we got to camp. ![]() i like this guys packing, corona panners anyone. ![]() showing of his new gift. ![]() old guys vs young guys, hey. (finally score 15 to 12 for the young guys) ![]() cathy finally shows up. ![]() my tent can obay like a dog, go act like a gs ![]() that night, pineapple rum seam to be the drink (but thats ok cus hes the stig ).the next day bob and mike wanted to try and find a back was to link cannel trail. first is was up chimney peak. fast dirt roads, some with gravel (i hate that shit). then we did a bit of slab to the kennedy meadows area (i really had no clue exactly where we were) ![]() stop at grumpy bears for a beer. the closer we got, the more the snow was looking like a problem. the head of the trail was looking about like this. ![]() more of an idea of the snow. ![]() never thought i would get one of these photos. ![]() that night was the feast for all (including vegetarians). ![]() treadless, thanks for the vegg options, i was scepical at first but i was impressed, soo good. and for the beer, that stuff was a strong as it was good. ![]() this is about where my camra craped out, the speach and raffle. good shit. the ride back consisted of bodfish to the 99 to the 5, a quick stop at charles and then back home the way i came, with a few miles of dirt to drop into town. in total for the 4 days, 777.6 miles, not bad. i really would like to thank everyone that helped put this all together especial treadless. WARPED 6 is only 360 days way now.

And the tow van, and the camping gear, and the other laundry, and picked up the cat, and called to get the wheel shipped out to be straightened, and called Kermit about repairs to the swan dive victim.
Now to vacuum and return the tow van and start dinner after that... Yes, I need a job.
