Is the F650GS just as plagued with an eggareting speedo? Is it "driven" off the rear wheel sensor just as the G650X?

OK, ordinarily I'd feel dumb about this post, but I've owned my X-Co for about 5 days, so I'm a n00b.

What's involved in replacing the stock unit--how much of a PITA in terms of time and sweat? Also, what do we do, lay the bike down on a nice blanket on its left side or something? (With the Tiger there was a threat of oil seeping into the cylinders if left down for too long.)

Thanks guys--rg

Assuming you're talking about the Speedo Ring on the back wheel.....

Just remove the wheel, remove the old unit, bolt up the new unit, replace the rear wheel.

As a set of SuperMoto wheels for my XChallenge will most likely be a Christmas present to myself, someone correct me if I'm making a wrong ass-umption here. I'm keeping the dirt wheels, so I'll essentially have two bikes!

By setting the computer to 17" thanks to Max Kool's procedure, I will:
1) have the stock wheel set 21/18 with the stock ABS ring
2) use the speedo ring from this thread on the 17/17 rear wheel

Sounds like both would then be reporting at least close to the correct speed, given that the stock wheel set is being corrected by the computer and the SuMo wheel set is being corrected by the ABS ring?

I'm also thinking I should buy an XTank at the same time... If only to save on shipping...

I converted mine to SuMo wheels also and have wondered about the speedo error. Would the new ABS ring fix the error with my 17's?

Yes it will, if you ALSO set the speedo on the smaller rear wheel circumference.

None. Last sold just before Xmas.
You in a hurry? I'll do another small batch, but that could take a few weeks.

No big hurry, just damaged mine. If it'll take a week or so I'll take two of them.

Any more info on when your new retail website will be up and running?
