Howdy neighbor. I grew up in the Fairview / Stark City area.

One of these days I'll take a camera with me on the rides so I can post pics.

Just rode to Pittsburg, KS and back. Had a not so nice suprise when I switched to high beams -- there were two dear standing on the side of the road. They were completely invisible with low beams.

Fortunately they decided to move away from the road.

Well that was my pucker moment for the day.

Well to keep this thread alive and on the first page, so I don't need to go searching multiple pages for it.

I just picked up a brand new to me 1985 Suzuki DR 500. Its in pristine shape except for the seat, some missing covers, no lights, etc.

I tried to post some picts and they appeared when I was creating the message, however when the message was actually posted only links were displayed. Any ideas as too what I did wrong?

Thanks

You have to click on the insert image button there on the reply box, looks like a little mountain, then paste your link in there. Some websites don't like it when you reference their servers as web hosts. Not sure about photobucket, but Smugmug has worked wonderfully for me.

Tornado Damage!

Joplin, Carthage, Carl Junction and assorted other towns in southwest Missouri had a serious storm roll through the area this morning. Power is down in most of the region, trees and powerlines down as well. If you were planning on comming down this way over the weekend, I'd be extremely carefull till the damage is cleared off.

We had some horizontal rain in SGF this morning. Winds at work were probably 50-70mph. At one point a trailer drove itself across our parking lot. The real damage seems to have skipped us in favor of the smaller outlying towns. I hear Fair Grove high school was destroyed.

DAy 2 with no power.

Well, here it is DAY 2 with no power. I'm posting this from work, which for some reason is the only powered building in the immediate area. Thank goodness they have hot showers here...

Got out of class and rode the outer road in Rolla to T in Doolittle/Newburg to M near Flat to 63 in Edgar Springs and back up to Rolla. Nice little 50+ mile loop. I just want to ditch 63 and find a better route north to Rolla.
