I would sure like me a new one to replace my bulletproof 96 XR4

I would like that new crf but the seat has to go and there would have to be some sort of saddle bags/panniers put on it

Yep

It was a slick sucker, never really ride a bike in snow or ice. Slow was the key, even a little throttle put the rear wheel out and with no hope of footwork I behaved myself, maybe 12-15 mph in second. No spills but only covered about 6 miles, that was more than enough to get some pics and experience, and cold fingers. Should have waited to depart till it was later and I could have shot some sunset pics.

Ok...now that CRF 450 Rally is sweet... I really need to get my 640 Adventure sold in case one of those comes available! I don't know if I could stomach a red bike, but that is sweet...

640 adv

So whats the story on the 640? How long did you own it what were your likes and dislikes? I bought a klr because I owned one many years ago they, are a true 50/50 bike, meaning they are good at practically nothing, and are simple, sorta like me. What attracted you to the 640 and what drove you away from it? Just wondering don't think I will put the klr up for sale but who knows. SN

DS riding in Branson area

Hi to all the SW Mo inmates,
I'm using a trip to Branson this month as a recon mission to find "the cool stuff". Wife and I will trailer our bikes down this spring or summer and was needing some ideas. Thanks in advance. We passed through the area last summer on street bikes and love the area.

Sharps:

Basically, I have always had KTM off road bikes and I loved the fact that the 640 Adv was a good dual sport machine that could be used for trails and roads. I had never had a true dual sport (did have a 1200GS at one point, but that's a road bike). I really like the 640 and it has great suspension. There's a lot of vibration though. It's a big dirt bike, not a dirt shoed road bike.

I started to enjoy the travel aspect of a dual sport and wanted something that may not be as dirt worthy but is more comfortable to travel. So, I compromised and I got a F800GS.

This bike is better suited to my current desires. But, for someone who really loves the dirt and wants to travel...the 640ADV is a great bike and one of the classics.

There is a lot of good riding down there. You could take 76 over to 160 then 125 south across the Ar border. There is a free ferry ride involved (Peels Ferry). If you work your way over to Mountain Home and then back into Mo there are several mills to visit. Dawt Mill sits beside a beautiful stream. Hodsons Mill is right over a spring. All the riding in SE Mo and NW Ar is great.

Midnightventure, thanks for the response. With a little time at the pc I found info on glade top trail and a few other areas. Most of the area seems to be nice. Daydreaming of spring!

Thanks for the information on the ktm. I wondered about one of those but never been on one. I hear you on vibrations. My klr 650 gives me more buzz than I care for when it gets highway time. I got a klr 250 and if I had not already farkled the 650 to my liking I would buy a versys or vee something a little smoother but still gravel travel worthy. That would leave the klr 250 for tougher trail work even though it might need hauling to get it within striking distance. Most likely wont change now but a couple years ago when I bought had I realized how little trail work the 650 was going to get my choice might have been different. Rusty Jug Tell me about the spring meet and greet? Will this require an engraved invitation, or will low life riff raft on klr's be invited? ;) Just dirt fun, glade top is a neat ride went once, look forward to a repeat with a better understanding of the area. SN
