It was a last minute deal on the ride. Don't fret over it. The waitress said you were still at the bank (it was @ 3:00) and we couldn't stay long anyway. I'll be back up that way sometime soon. I'd still be interested in finding an off-road route from here to there, though.

I'm for a dirt road to Springfield also!:)

My wife is always wanting to go shopping at Springfield, this way she can leave and I can catch later in the day than trailer my bike back with her!
Yep need to get that road on the books!

If any of you guys are interested our local chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist Association is having a bike blessing this Sunday, April 7th, at the park in Everton. It will start at 9:00am and after all the bikes are blessed we will go for a short ride around Dade County. The ride will be on all paved road, but I suppose you could make your own route as there are some good gravel roads throughout the County. I cant think of a better way to start out the riding season!

We could do the Monegaw cave run with some different roads, Jesse James and younger brothers could be back at the cave!
The newbies would love this run and end back at the Jug or longer run and end at caplinger mills.

Sounds like a plan.

When is the next El Dorado Cycle Open House? There is nothing on their FB page.

I'll make a few calls, see what I can find out.
River rat days at caplinger mills May 11th, but I'm selling food that day and can't play! But good for riders wanting to check out the Mills with festivities.

I went for a ride down through SW Mo yesterday. I was originally going to take the DR and make it a 2 day trip but with the forecast for rain I decided to do it in 1 day so I took my big bike and stayed on the pavement. My Grandfather had a farm in Purdy and was killed in a traffic accident 6 miles east of Monnette in 1961 when I was 6 years old. The last time I was around him I was to young to remember. I wanted to go through both those areas and also see Roaring River state park. I was in to big a hurry to stop and take a lot of pictures but here are a few. The Osage is pretty big here so I stopped to look at it on Hwy H outside of El Dorado Springs. Since it is flooded it is pretty big here too. There must have been 200 swallows swarming up under the bridge when I first pulled in but they disappeared by the time I got the camera out.

I rode on to the state park.

Looking up from the spring

Looking down from the bluff

Where the little waterfall is coming from

The river flowing away from the spring

By now it had started clouding up and I was about 200 miles from home so I headed back the fastest way.
