Help Needed In Las Vegas!
I got hit in Las Vegas by what turned out to be an uninsured driver - broken collarbone, toe. Due to the long weekend, I have to pick up my bike from the towyard before 5 today, can't find a truck to rent today. I won't be able to answer on this forum, I'm using a borrowed pc next door. Please call Scott Benjamin at the Frontier asap if you can help me get it out and to someplace that won't charge by the day 'till I get a truck.
Thanks! |

Hey Chop I know it might be a biut late tonight but Yahoo Yellow Pages has the New Frontier telephone numbers as:
(702) 794-8404 & (702) 794-8200 Here's their website: New Frontier Hotel and Casino I guess you can have your friend call them and ask for Scott Benjamin or call the hotel and give Scott Benjamin your friends name and contact info. I only have and ex-girlfriend in Las Vegas and I wouldn't put anyone in contact with her unless they were a pie-throwing clown type. Good luck. Cheers, Jorge

Sorry to leave everybody hanging, but my 'net access was very limited, and a big smelly pile of shit had just been tossed into my lap so I've been a busy boy. I was going to put this in the regional forum to start with, but when I logged on, there were three people perusing regional, and like sixty in JM. I had already left messages with the one guy I know in Vegas, put an announcement on the board of the conference I was there to attend, and I even tried to call the kid that hit me and give him a chance to help me out and try to amend at least a little. Got to within an hour before the towyard closed, and nobody had called yet, so I set out fueled by painkillers and frustration-induced adrenalin, determined to push it the ten miles back to the hotel if I had to. Sorry I didn't post the hotel phone number, but I didn't have it with me - my mind was a bit hazy with Hydrocodone, and I wasn't planning ahead well at the time. I figured anybody that was in Vegas would be able to find the number for the Frontier.
But first - the sordid details. I had just ridden up to Vegas to attend a conference, got checked in, unloaded the bike and set out around 11pm to look for a late dinner. I was just pulling up to a stop at a red light about a half mile West of the strip when BAM! Blindsided - a complete surprise. I'm not sure he even had his lights on, because I distinctly remember checking my mirrors while slowing and seeing the nearest set of headlights as still being way behind me. (Unless he was really traveling that fast!) I remember being thrown around like a rag-doll, hitting hard stuff that hurt (a lot!), and coming to a stop sitting on my ass on the pavement about ten feet from the bike, which I could see laying on it's left side with the headlight still on, the busted-off windshield on the pavement a bit behind it. (When I picked up the police report later, it said that the bike had been bounced 87 feet from the point of impact.) First thing I noticed were waves of pain from left knee and left shoulder, second was that I wasn't breathing. I had gotten the wind knocked out of me big-time, and it took a serious effort for several minutes of concentrating on "inhale - exhale - inhale - exhale" just to get to where I no longer thought I was going to pass out. Anyway, lots more interesting stuff happened that night and over the next several days that I'm going to gloss over for now because Hydrocodone may be addictive, but it sure ainβt all that effective, and I'm getting real tired sitting up typing with one hand. In summary, both the bike and I are damaged but home and I'll finish this story later. Oh, and I'm probably not going to make it to Ouray after all unless I can get the Harley running by then, 'cause it'll be a while before I ride that GS again. I live in Vegas but wasn't checking the posts on advrider for a while. Glad you got home OK.
I feel a bit shitty for not checking the posts more often as I could have helped ya out in quick order.
