1987 Elite 150----SKELLY!!!

hey guys! new to ADVrider, so I thought I'd post my beast!

It's a 1987 Honda Elite CH150 (a pretty hard-to-find scooter as far as year/body style) that I picked up out of my buddy's backyard. It had just been sitting for a couple months---he couldn't afford the expired reg. & insurance, so he's letting me "borrow" it indefinitely. Anyways, here it is as I picked it up:

(here's what it is SUPPOSED to look like:)

And after a few cosmetic "upgrades"
-Burlap seatcover----Home Depot, $5!

-some half-dried paint that I smeared & used a marker to draw over it

-relocated blinkers---they look like they're free-floating, pretty neat:

It had 6900 miles when I got it last June, and now has just over 11000. Rides like a CHAMP! I derestricted the muffler & I keep it well-maintained despite its looks, though I'm due up for a new belt & some roller weights. This sucker will hit its top speed of 65 fairly effortlessly. Takeoff from 0 to about 40mph puts a on my face, this bitch really pulls! Oh, and I have since got a pair of unbroken mirrors, but that doesn't do much in the way of looks, only functionality. ..

I got to go to my Wife's work thing today, concert in Discovery Park. The rain broke long enough that I got to ride down & have a couple beers! I even got to park VIP with my OWN PERSONAL GUARD

That Elite is just crying out to be an "Art Car"

Figure out something cool to hang or attach to it to give it an even funkier look.

Such as wrapping everything you can in aluminum foil.

Old out of state license plates would be cool.

Or how about fur, fake of course.

Get a couple rubber highway cones and cut them into high visability body covering.

Its from the '80's, so how about floppy disks?

There's also a pickup here in Albuquerque that's covered with computer chips (and is done better than this disk car), but I don't have a photo.

Diamond Plated

Diamond plated panels would look real industrial.

Hey there! How's the work going on it? She sure is a nice looking bike! Are those the standard size tires for the bike? I have the same bike as you know but my tires seem thinner?

heyy, what's up! Nah, it's an illusion----having the front bodypanels on WIDENS the look of the front end, making the tire appear thinner. ...in fact, that front tire is the original tire on this bike, I think! The back one's been changed, I'm due up for some tires & valves.

Check this out... http://www.scootforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=532

Its for the 80cc but it might be a big help with other stuff like body work and some of the other mechanical and electrical stuff.

That's an awesome ride! Are those "pegs" on the front wheel? Great art too, I look forward to getting a scooter to mark up. My vehicles are art-free now, trying to be artsy this close to the bible belt isn't worth getting keyed or tipped over!

Jedi, that's so freakin cool. It look like one of those bomb robots that they would send in to defuse a bomb... errr not blow stuff up, but to prevent stuff from being blown up., those bots are more powerful than a bomb!

Did that come out as a compliment?.... cuz it was one!
