I admittedly don't know much about BMWs, but that seems high to me for a 1992 with 60+ thousand miles.

The R100 GSPD is a very desirable model and 60K miles on an old airhead is nothing. Prices for a good GSPD one start around $5000. $5200 for this one with bags and a corbin seat is a fair price. I paid $5000 for mine without bags or a corbin seat and 50K miles.

It's a fair price to the few BMW nut-jobs that claim it's a fair price, but to the rest of the world of motorcycling - those who get to read about what it takes to keep old BMW's on the road - they are worth half of that.

Looks-wise, yes, it's cool. But the day is very near when 99.9% of the motorcyclists out there won't pay that for that old and used of a bike.

I guess I'm a nut job. Maybe not as much clout as a chucklehead, but still awesome.

Sheeeit, I can only hope to be a nut job. As of now, I'm still too inept for nut job status.

Nutjob To The 3rd Power checking in

ADV buddy Stage evidently didn't get the memo that GSPD's are all flaccid, overpriced bling and German poserware:

http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=653265

oh and PS Robin: i've talked to the CHuckleheads Board of Governors and they have officially decreed that being a "BMW NutjobTM" does carry the same degree of clout as does standard Chucklehead status.

Congratulations!

It's like you guys swarm posts to defend your bikes' resale values.... is this really how the cultists of BMW bikes do business?

Yamaha cafe racer/street tracker/fun ride.

Have a 1972/71 Yamaha XS650.

Long story short, has a shell thuett 750 kit, 34mm Mikuni, Barnett clutch, megacycle cam, balanced crank, pod filters, etc. Motor is a 71, so kicker only. Runs great. All electronics work perfectly.

Frame is based from a 72 (titled as such), and has some custom stuff such as smoothed out welds, powder coated frame (cadillac brown), custom fenders/taillight setup, and some other things.

Bike is rideable, but will need new tires, steering head bearings soon. Base gasket also has a minor leak, but not spewing out (running straight 50W in it, has slowed it down, but still leaks some).

Looking to get $2,000 out of it, given it needs some lovin'. Included is a manual and possibly some extra parts (have some fenders, wheels and a few other things).

Just rebuilt the petcocks, cleaned the carbs and a recent oil change. Fires up 2nd kick cold, 1st kick warm.
