I'll wait until the prices come down to a more realistic level to get one. And... if they don't, I still have the Vee.

Granted, I wouldn't ride the Vee through some of the chit I've ridden a 950 through but that's why I have an XRR.
I shopped around for a 950 last year after I sold my sport tourer and old XR. An inmate had an 04 with 45k miles for $5400. It had some farkles; pipes, cycles hand guards, seat, wind screen. But it also had a laundry list of "this needed done," including water pump and some other stuff. I ultimately passed since a) I am too short and b) my riding skills are limited as it is.

They come up for reasonable prices, but you gotta be there at the right time and be prepared to buy one with a few miles.

I have a Dnepr outfit in Bulgaria, leftover military bike, not 2wd. brand new, but stuck & rusty from sitting. So I pulled out the 25?hp dnepr motor & shipped over a 105hp Buell cyclone motor. I dont have it finished yet, but when I do, I think its gonna be fun

Eloy,

Get a 9x0 you will not regret it. My 990R is best bike I ever owned. That and the 450 exc and you can do it all with a huge smile. Before this I thought my plated XR650R was the best bike. Every time I ride the 990R I grin. My riding ability is the only obstacle in its potential and where it will go. I Flew to OHIO to get my 990R and rode it home. Awesome fly and ride bikes. Rode 620 miles one day on it. Keep looking for one. Get the R if you can find it, more travel on the suspension. You are more than welcome to ride mine anytime.

Cheers,

Jerry

1986 883 harley - $1500 (Fsu)

http://tallahassee.craigslist.org/mcy/4248228145.html

1986 883 black harley davidson sportster. I have put close to $4000 into this bike and having everything rebuilt. there are currently only three things that the bike needs. I just am ready to have a car instead. the bike needs a blinker relay which is like a few dollars, a new battery, and the speedometer needs to be fixed. it has 4 gears. it rides great. i just put brand new passenger pegs on it. i have a passenger pad for it as well. it has approximately 25 k miles on it.

Thanks Jerry! I rode a buddy's 950 thrugh Red Rock Canyon a few years ago and I was very impressed with the way it performed. I took it through stuff I would not have even dreamed of taking my Vee.

I'll get one when a good deal comes along. Until then, the Vee and the XR will do.

He seems a bit high when a running good condition 525 that's three years newer was only $700 more:

Maybe I'm the crazy one, but for a 11 year old dirt bike that doesn't run, I'm thinking $1500-$1750, if that. Who knows what else is wrong? Especially since he doesn't seem real keen on letting people check the bike out beforehand. "Sold as is, where is, as a collection of parts only"

Keep in mind California is like a whole different country when it comes to regulations.

I can’t say for sure, but perhaps he sees that plated frame holds more value than you are thinking.

All that said...yea still seems high
