Had a 1976 GL1000 for many years.
It's not the tach cable.
It's the dried up factory lube in the tach.
Can be fixed. But it's a pain.

Seems like a good deal. I know Colorado is a ways away but if you want to keep in out here on the West (ish) coast I've got room in my garage.

Just make sure you leave a spare key

The dealers have been selling leftover 13's for $7200....that's way high in my book. 15's will be here soon....wait for a 14

Where??

I suppose this becomes a locality issue. here in co, the xcw is what everyone wants. they left the dealer's floors as soon as they got the boxes of em in!

why wait for the 14? any major differences? I'd consider ktm financing if it was really that much of a better bike, but it seems that the 12-14 bikes are all pretty dang similar... in their awesomeness, that is.

You wait for the next year model so the prices will be lower (in theory) for the remaining show room bikes that have not sold. I thought 14s were already out! When dealing with used bikes who knows.

Yup I got that..
Not waiting that long and there's only excs in stores here, all xcws are sold.
Guess I kinda made up my mind

I'd hate to pay wayy too much, but this is just no place for a two stroke. Rocky vertical hillclimbs and limited fuel range kinda force my hand to act on what I already knew was coming..
