You basically just look to jet the primary carb. The right side just has a gigantic main in it (like, massive). I wouldn't bother touching it. The left one is just like any other.

One change a lot of people screw up is when the second carb "initiates." If it's set too early, you end up loading the fooker up (IE, lots of flooding). My old 86 never once gave me a fit when starting it hot (cold, it took several for some reason) mainly because I had that linkage dialed in.

I've owned two Yamaha SRX 600's, both of which had two carbs, IIRC.

This ain't from Craigslist, but I think it's the product of the sort of imagination that would do us all proud:

SRX did have deuce setup. Miss mine, but what a PITA it was to start. Yamaha in the 80s were infamous for poor black box designs.

Mine were easy once I learned the regimen, which featured slow kicking it over two or three times, then giving it a serious stomp with the throttle absolutely, positively closed. Even a hint of throttle, and she ain't gonna start.

I have a weed whacker that runs well but hates to start. I have learned how to start it easily. Push the primer a couple of times, the pull the cord a few times, choke off. Set it in the sun, then mow the lawn. Starts easy then with a couple more primes and pulls. No choke, it hates that.

If the starting regimen for the gentler sex were only that simple.

But in the 70's I would have if the money had been there.

Looks fun, and I'm not overly knowledgeable on these, so why wouldn't you Tony?
