Is that bash plate home made or did you buy it somewhere? It looks quite tough.

What tool kit do you carry on your bikes? I am assembling a basic tool kit that I will be carrying with me on my rides next year and need some help with what is useful to have with me. I will be taking with me a OEM tools (not really OEM as I didn't get them with the bike, but I have a parts list to which I will refer to get all the tools), are there any special tools just for kle that are usefull to have out in the field ?

Thanks!
Hi Mate the bash plate is the Std unit same as yours, I take the original tool kit and one from my Old KTM 990 Adventure that I forgot to give the new owner !!!

The bash plate and the stainless steel throw over bag frames were made by a bloke who once owned a KLE, he removed them before selling his bike, I advertised a WTB and he contacted me.

Finding after market stuff for KLE's is difficult, it is probably easier to make your own stuff in most cases.

I just wish there was a larger fuel tank to fit them.

As for tool kits-
I carry the stock kit plus some other odd spanners and a good supply of assorted cable/zip ties, including some long strong ones.
Puncture repair kit, pump and tyre levers.

I'm still modifying my kits for both my bikes as I find I need specific items, but I have them close to right now.

Everyone has different priorities so you will need to work out what you need as extras.

I've just come back from a two and a half week ride on my V-Strom, the KLE hasn't been ridden for almost three weeks, the KLE fired up instantly this morning.
I love it

Help!

Hello!

I need some help with getting my handelbars off. I can't unscrew the four bolts that are on the bar clamps:

While trying to undo them I bent my allen key and a 10 wrench I used as a extension:censored::censored:

The bolts are still intact, no damage to the bolt heads. They are not rusted and I sprayed some wd-40 on them.
----------------------------------------

One more thing, did you grind off the control pins or did you drill out the bars? I grinded it down on the left side as it was plastic. On the throttle side it is metal and I am thinking of drilling a hole instead of grinding the pin. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

P.S.: Posted this in 3 different topics!
