Is the seat pan the same? BMW F650GS thumper vs. F658GS/F800GS

Has anybody checked by chance to see if the seat from an F650GS thumper will fit on the F658/F800GS twins?

I'm wondering if they share the same seat pan?

I don't think so. I had a '01 F650GS and now have a '09 F800GS and the seat pans looked really different and went on a different way. The 650 used to clip/latch at the back and the 800 clips at the front with tabs that go under brackets at the back. I can't see them crossing over.

I don't think so....

The old GS had the latch on the rear, the new GS has the latch on the front.

I am pretty sure I have a OEM seat from a '07 F650 laying around at home....

****hmmm....I guess if I were to scroll down and read all the replies, I would have seen that post right above mine...

The thumper will not fit the twin, but I believe the seats of the 800 and new 650 twin are the same.

Sounds like it won't work....

This forum needs a "lending library" with a couple stock seats in it ... so we can send our seats out for modifications & not have to leave the bikes in the garage for 3 weeks....
