After realizing the seat was giving me butt hurt after 150 miles or so, I (re)bought an Airhawk pad (my old one I had for three years finally exploded after I left it outside in cold weather and sat upon it). Washington, DC to Huntsville, AL in a day, and felt fine the next day. It wasn't my butt that called it quits.
They may look dumb, be a bit expensive, but they seem to work. At least for my butt they do. Certainly cheaper than a custom saddle. |

I do 300 miles days all the time. For me that's a good day's ride. But I have no desire to more than triple that and go for an IronButt certification. Screw that. For those that enjoy doing that, more power to ya, but I ride because I enjoy riding. Having to endure 16 hours in the saddle just to clock miles isn't my personal idea of fun.
I can do those days in my custom corbin. I couldn't do 60 miles without pain in the stock low saddle. It was causing bone bruising for christ's sake... Perhaps the regular stock seat is better, I dunno. I have a 30" inseam and it's hard enough to get on the bike with the low seat. The high seat was ridiculous. I'd drop it backing out of my driveway.
