anyone here familiar with doing valve adjustments and throttle body syncs on a v-strom 650? I'd like to learn how to do it and am willing to pay and watch :) Bike shop wants 80 an hour for 3-5hrs!

I watched a video last night on youtube on how to do a valve shim adjustment on a KTM 500 XC-W. They make it looks so easy.

And it's when I read this that I wished I had invested in the company that makes Helicoil kits...

And replied to. Lol. Happy to help any way I can. My brother actually bought my wife's Strom and loves it. I might well end up doing a valve check on it in the not too distant future........

Quiet here. Is everyone out riding?

Ok, so what's a good route to take my tiger 1050 away from Tarmac but still with street shoes on? When my michelins wear out I'll probably look at something like the scorpion trails but for now I have the road 3 s on. They seem fine on gravel so far.

How's the K and P trail? Or will I be spending some time hoisting up the fat thing from the middle of a muddy puddle?

Thank you, I'll look at that now. What's the surface like? I'm aware my tiger is a 90:10 road bike.

Edit: California road near Enterprise/ Tamworth or the one near White Lake?

The one near Tamworth. I was through there a couple of weeks ago and it was in good shape.

I recorded a video of it when I went through. Will upload it shortly so you can see if you want to try it.

Its basically a cottage road. Good fun though. The tiger would be fine on it. Just take your time till you figure out how the bike feels on the surface and the lay off the road.

K&P, like all rail line trails, sucks. To put it plainly.

Nothing but a straight shot through the forest with whooped out sections and puddles. Blech.

The cottage roads like California, etc., all around the Depot Lakes, north of Frontenac Park, and so forth, are all far more interesting, scenic, and fun than the K&P.
