did my first oil change on the 640 - what the hell, what happen to removing a bolt, drain, refill - ah the old days... Also tore out one of those plastic embedded brass nuts of my airbox when putting in a new filter. Nothing a little JB weld didn't fix but can't they find a better way??

and to think i put off riding yesterday : - at least the dust would be down.

Big thanks to Drif, assisted with some expert electrical wiring from Forseti to get my F650 ready for the Roaming Rally. A last minute voltage regulator and battery failure would have kept me from joining the gang this weekend.

Thanks guys! Had a great time back in the garage again. Been too long!

The wife and I will be taking the Italian scoot (she refuses to get on the ktm) to do the cheese/cider/antique thing on the County.

Went to Orange motosport in Port Hope yesterday for parts and found a few good unmaintained/twisty backroads all within spitting distance of the 401 - it was a good ride and you could still hop on the slab whenever time was running out.

Busy the next 3 weeks - family camping trip and then taking 10 days to do NY/Vermont/Maine/NewBrunswick/Quebec again on the Piaggio. So the 640 will be gathering dust for a while.

Who from around here is doing the Dacre this coming weekend?

off road?

Does anyone know a nice 1.5 to 2 hour loop from kingston that would be a good combo of off road trails, double tracks and gravel roads? I rarely can take the full day to make my way to bancroft or north of hwy 7 but i would love to go afterwork for 1 or 2 hours... If you know a good loop let me know and we can go some night!!

Hey Frankie,
I usually head north of Sydenham (Bedford rd to Canoe Lk rd and or Devil Lk rd or take Hinchenbrooke Rd north of Desert lk rd, either route ends up on Westport Rd. You can loop over to Buck Lk rd, head north, make your first right on ??? rd and another right on New rd takes you back to Westport rd. Not really any two track, but lotsa good gravel.

Or another good ride is up to California rd to the end and turn left towards Tamworth then take first right and head to Norway lk rd. Norway Lk rd is more technical with some mud and rocks. It just dead ends, but the dead end is a pretty nice spot for a break....then head back the same route.
