V Strom windshield options
I picked up a Wee Strom and really like it so far. My only complaint is wind buffeting on my helmet. I've tried the windshield in all three official positions and although it change some there was not much improvement. The forth real high position looked goofy so I did try it in this position.
Any recommendations on an aftermarket replacement? Saw a "Windstrom Manta" on ebay and the write up sounded good but hate to spend $200.00 without a reference... Thank you, AK

Try the Madstad bracket. It helped with my bike. I just put a Givi tall windshield on mid-week, but have not had a chance to try it yet. I am hoping the combination does the trick.

After a year with the Madstad and Givi screen I got tired of still having buffeting issues and went the other direction. For me, a smaller screen has been the answer in the form of a MP Cycle Design "sport" screen. My helmet is in full airflow, but at least it's smooth. I'm in calm air from the neck down so no issues with fatigue at highway speeds.

I was an early adopter of the MS
I wouldn't buy one today. It's not worth the money. Cut your stock screen down. And complain to Suzuki for making a bike that nearly everyone needs to do something to the windscreen to.

Tried the madstad but the only buffet-free position was a position that also let all the air under the screen and didn't provide much protection. And the thing is Rube Goldberg'ish and puts a lot of sharp metal pieces right in your groin/stomach area if, heaven forbid, you'd have a head-on and go over the bars.
Also tried a Cee Bailey. Worse than stock. I finally went with a smaller-than-stock screen. Less protection but it is dead smooth and looks right on the bike. ![]() - Mark |

When I added my mirror extenders...the buffetting increased dramatically.

Faugh.
Before you do ANYTHING, try getting some rubber grommets to change the angle of the damn mounting brackets. Sloping it backwards some (using grommets on the bottom bits) works for a few cheap bastards. I have a givi tall, at a slope. Works like a charm.

I really like the Givi w/ the MadStad bracket. For me, it works well, but it makes it look like a "touring" bike. The bracket w/ the Stock shield was much better than any stock position.
