The tips of your teeth are square. An efficient, standard sprocket has pointed teeth so the chain rolls in, and rolls out.

I ordered a enw one. Have to get some oil and grease today too. Week by week I'm rebuilding my garage one piece at a time. Soon I'll have an entire replica in OK, of my CA garage.

I have been drawing stuff in Librecad. I email it to a guy at work who posts it to the machine in G code.

As for the teeth on the sprocket, they are a bit flat at the very top, but they are indeed rounded. A test ride this morning was very quiet... new sprockets have teeth flattened out where it would protrude from the chain. The original drawing had teeth that went to a point, but the points would have stuck up too high, so I trimmed them down giving you the flat tooth here.

And of course, part of this is an experiment to see what I need to adjust.

Found my problem. Stretched cam chain. Throwing off my cam timing and as aggressive as it is, it has to be spot on.... And it's at least 5deg off. I couldn't jet out the det so parts on order tomorrow but won't be ready for the race. Next one though I'm in.

Well I have my new chain and sprockets installed, new tire holding air, full tank of gas and a late night test ride. All seems well, except for whatever was happening to me that caused me to put the wheel on, find a spacer, put the spacer in, put the wheel on, get it adjusted, ready to go, and see the spacer from the other side looking smugly back at me from where it fell in the floor after being knocked off... so pull the wheel again...

...All ready to roll now, thanks in no small part to inmate bmeador. Saved the day, he did.

Made it home without further incident. Glad I got to meet some of you guys, put faces to the names.

Now, if you will excuse me, I need to lay on the couch like a decaying corpse for the next several hours.
