I'd like to ask for a judge's ruling on this one. This is where it is located, about 2 dashes to the right of where it reads Kenansville Road on the bottom.

Here's another view from Google Maps:

Coming in from the east, I managed to make it here before I could not go any farther:

Locked!!

Ok...so I rode all the way around to try it from the other side. I couldn't get my route to show on the screenshot...but basically I rode back out, down to 60, up 441, and then onto Fellsmere Road:

It is supposed to be a graded dirt-road. No problem...right? Um, no. The third time I dumped my 800 pound street bike on the sugar sand that makes up the road...I called it quits. I would have had to go another 10 miles down that road. Wasn't gonna happen. I'm sorry to report that I did not take pictures of the big beastie on its side in the sand.

Anyhow...I tried my damnedest to get there and came up short. Was I close enough? I, of course, will accept the ruling of our esteemed FF's here without complaint. I ordinarily wouldn't even ask...but it was frustrating as all get-out to get that close and not make it.

Sounds like you need to speed up. I ran it bout 40 on the bandit. My kid was having a hard time so I put him on the KLR.
3 pics of the land yacht taking a sand nap would have gotten you an automatic pass As it is languishing at the dead end of a dirt road and it was an interesting story I'm inclined to give it to you. Usually we only give in when the tag is illegal or no longer there. What do the rest of you FFs say

Well...I will confess that about 80% of my lifetime dirt-road experience happened in the last 8 hours. 250k miles on roads means squat as it relates to how a motorcycle will handle on dirt. Now that you mention it, I was only going about 20mph. I was paranoid that I was going to dump it if I went TOO FAST. I guess I should have bought something a little smaller or ridden a lot faster.

Funny you mention the pictures. After the 2nd time I dumped it in 1000 feet the following thought went through my head: "take a picture. It will make for weeks of entertainment for the rest of the inmates". I was going to retrieve my iPhone from the bike (it's also my GPS) when I noticed that the right mirror was no longer attached to the bike. By the time i got done zip-tying it back in place, I had forgotten about it.

...until the next time I dropped it 2 minutes later on the way out. By that time I let loose with a string of profanity which would make even the most hardened sailor blush. Now the bike was pointed in the opposite direction since I was leaving and I only remembered after I had gotten done getting all of the sand out of my Rev'It gloves and out of my mouth.

I suspect that at some point in the future the big beastie will end up on its side again. I'll be sure to snag pictures so that the moment can be shared by everyone.

Speed is your friend in the sand

Hint: It's on the same river as the above tag; about 2-3 miles away; it's adjacent to another park about 3 blocks away; and it's also behind some more prominent landmarks where you would never know it's there unless you stumbled upon it (or lived next to it).

The Cocoa Village Playhouse.

NOTE: if you go when it's busy (which is very frequent) it will be very difficult to get the picture from the angle I snapped it. I'll give a wide latitude on this one.

In honor of mother's day...here's a little helpful reminder:

On N. Wickham Rd in Viera. The name (just in case it's a little hard to make out because of taking the photograph at night) is Wesche Jewlers.

I kuntz says I'm crazy for trying to learn how ride sand on a 9fidy. I say even attempting it on that beast shows balls or craziness. IIRC the road becomes better after a few miles. Go ahead and call it tagged and post up a new one

After a ruling by the judges who took pity on the combination of my lack of dirt riding skills and for eating a mouthful of sand...here's the replacement for THREE FORKS MARSH.
