I guess if you had never travelled the old road, you would not know.

Hey Chris, Goldie tells me it was Welbourne Hill (spelling?), up between Coober Pedy and Kulgera. However, I don't remember any such place up there and only remember stopping at Marla Bore for fuel between those two.

I thought Wirraminna Homestead was more likely.

Sorry Dave

But us old farts have better memories

It was indeed Welbourne Hill.

I always thought you had tunnel vision

BTW, would you like me to remind you of your crack at the Around Ozzie record back in the early 80's.?

I led you from Werribee to Berwick in well under an hour, its the fastest I have ever crossed the West Gate bridge. I prepaid coming over, tellling the toll collectors that we would be in a hurry

Those were the days

I only ever stopped at Marla for fuel, don't remember ever seeing Welbourne Hill.

Chris, I don't remember much about that ride through Victoria. Not because of time or age, I had very little memory of it just the next day. Crossed SA to Vic after dark and into NSW before daylight so didn't see much of your state. I do remember the fast run across the bridge (after my roadside nap) and being escorted east of the city limits by Frank Cachia.

Went up through there on Sunday. Water would've been around the 3m mark at the time.

Correct Mike I thought the water under the bridge may throw most off.
It's been many years since I've seen water under the bridge.

This is looking east

If anyone is going down to Phillip Island from the north go through Wee Jasper, the countryside is looking fantastic.
And the dirt between Wee Jasper and Tumut is in the best condition I've ever seen it.

This is on a fairly well travelled road, I'm sure plenty of others have spotted it.
