Thanks mate ... this lake...one side of the road they are freshwater..the other side is saltwater..according to a local I was talking to....these pics are of just the lakes on one side, the east side ...not sure if these are salt or the fresh ones..no pics of the other side ...confused...the ocean is no where around here either..

Been going over with the truck and 4 horses for about 5-6 years now. was pretty wild when it was new years eave/day. Now its the weekend after.

Omeo Hwy, falls Creek Rd, was sealed in 2010 i think. The deal was that for the approval of a new tunnel for the Kiewa Valley Hydro Plant the tunneled rock had to be used for something. So it formed the base for this new seal and thats why its somewhat rough, it was done quick and maybe not by a "normal" road crew.
As you are coming down that last grade the view to your left is onto Shannonvale, a beautiful valley. It was from there that John Fitzgerald led the first Govt. sponsored organised tourist adventure by horseback up and through the High Plains finishing up at Hotham. That was in 1928, they spent xmas camping out and finished the ride in 1929.
Also off to your left is Glen Valley, which includes Glen Wills and Sunnyside.
