I stopped in at swampy's on the way home from work yesterday to ask about using a 690 to make up a screen. He is happy to let me measure up a bike and has one there for some other work for the next few weeks. I am a bit busy for the next couple of weeks but will return as soon as I can to get a screen made and photos taken.

Is it a standard 690 you have or the R version?

Hi Sarah

Here is my first attempt at a DRZ400s / DR650 screen. It needs a little adjusting before I would post them out to other riders but the basic shape is there and Mark has told me that it is effective. I don't know whether this is what you had in mind? I have done a bit of digging and should be able to get hold of materials in white, as well as the grey in the pic and charcoal black that I am using for the Xchallenge.

Yes i have the '08' E model KTM 690E. The '08' KTM 690E has the front brake hose behind the headlight and the KTM 690R has the front brake hose in the front of the headlight , this is the only differance that i can see .
Thanks Terry.

I am happy with mine since it does what I wanted it to do. brings the wind just up to my shoulders so no buffeting on my helmet and wind off my chest.

I like mine. simple and does the job.

Just PM me for the parts. wont be back home till after this weekend (traveling for work at the moment)

its a very basic screen and my first thought was as I put it on, was it is to small. but after my hwy ride I took with it. its just right for me that is. I am 5'11" if that helps your. you can even take it off, but its small enough were I dont even bother for the dirt fun.

and yes the price is right for sure. even coming from accross the pond.
Cheers

Agree with MtDew's feedback on the screen for the X Challenge. Did 445 klm last Sunday in very windy conditions. Other guys were getting blown around a fair bit but I experienced only minor gusts hitting me.

So small yet very effective.

It is made of coloured plastic, stiff but not rigid. It can flex without breaking. Attachment by heavy duty velcro (supplied).

Screen 15
Shipping rates are now
UK 2.50
Europe / EU 3
Others 4

Cheers
