Brand New to my DR650 ,, Help Please !!
First off Thanks ahead of time
JUst paid $2000 for a 2000 DR650 with 9000 miles on her , "all stock" was that to much ??? bike was sitting for a while.
Just put on a New Mikuni TM40 Pumper !! what a difference
Bike runs Great.
BUT I HAVE NOTICED SOME OIL LEAKING OR SEAPING OUT FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BIKE , ON TOP OF THE OIL FILTER KIND OF ????but not from the filter.
Is this a Gasket gone BAD ?? I'm new to this bike and Bikes in general
What should I look for and what is causing this ?
I heard these bikes go threw Gaskets ? Is this correct ??
PLEASE HELP ME OUT !

First guess - you better hope it is - is the timing chain tensioner gasket. $0.50 part that can be changed in 15 minutes.
Second guess - not so good but very possible - is a blow base gasket. These were made from paper until 03/04 and fail quite often. Replace with the newer metal version.
