I have a confession to make. It's been about a year since I washed my Vstrom. Even then it was more of a hosing off.

Today I washed it. Thoroughly. I even used a toothbrush.

Kick me out of the club. I don't deserve my (now visible) ADV sticker.

Started my day off with a broken clutch cable, not a full half mile from home, so I guess that was the lucky part. I had just turned out of my neighborhood, shifted into 2nd and the clutch lever went dead. Clutchless downshift to 1st and I took a right into the neighborhood across the road (never been in there) and wandered around for what seemed like hours (was about 10 minutes). Ran about 20 stop signs and barely made some turn-arounds in culdesacs trying to keep from stalling out. Eventually made it back out to a road I knew and limped home to switch bikes.

Left home at point A, cable broke at B. (Google's arrows pointed the wrong direction on this map)

So, anyone got a spare Benalli TreK clutch cable???

Hope you don't have too much trouble finding parts.

hey that can of polish works great for so many things. Bug remover, make the bike shiny, it also repels dust and helps keep mud from sticking. I haven't used anything but a water hose and simple green to clean my dirtbikes for years. I use the spray polish on them as well after a wash. I have used Pro Prep as well but I like the Honda stuff better. best thing in the world to clean goggles and shields with.

When we raced we found a clean and polished bike is way easier to get clean after then race. I've even sprayed silicon spray on my bike to make it easier to clean if the track was muddy.

I'm going to try to pull it off after work tonight. Just crossing my fingers that it's close enough in design to the Kawayamahonzuki's that I can find a replacement locally. I guess if not I'll call the Nelli dealer and order that and the shift peg replacement I've been putting off since the day I bought it.
