Jackson MS riders? - Page 700

Well, I just had my first get-off on the Tiger. I started to low side in the pouring rain & hit a curb. The pass pegs survived (thank God). The forks twisted in the tree, but that's it. I was only going about 10mph when I hit the curb. I don't know if I should blame the rain, my tires, or the ABS. I tried to stop but couldn't get traction. Oh well, the adrenaline is almost gone. I guess I better go take another look for damage. I managed to ride 10,800 miles without dropping it one time. The worst part is now I have to listen to my wife lecture me about how dangerous motorcycles are

That sucks, but any crash you walk away from allows you to ride another day.

Hate to hear that Rob. Hope you and the bike pull through fine. As for the wife... Can't help you there. I'm in the same boat.

Upon further inspection, all is well. I found my rubber peg cover. The skid plate contacted the curb & it rolled onto wet grass. I feel very lucky. I just had to straighten the forks in the tree. Thanks for kind words.

Looks like I will get an early start I will pull out of Monroe la mid morning on the 16th. With a stop in Jackson then will turn north around Forest then start looking around to see what I can find.

After riding 25 days and camping out all but 3 nights and 8500+ miles I can't seem to remember what day it is. Any way I am about to spend some time in Mississippi.

Not yet. I've been too busy preparing to move to do any work on it, but I got it an appointment Monday morning!
