Did it look like the bike was shaking??? If so, it was me, not the bike.

edit: Sorry, that was a bit cryptic. I've been sick for a few days and had to cut lunch short b/c of chills and shivers. I HATE being sick. Especially on a weekend when I have a new bike.

tslaw, OPGF, my brother and I rode to Northern Georgia, North Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee this past week. I will spare you a long worded ride report and just sum it up with this picture. OPGF took the picture as he is relatively newly wed and did not want any incriminating evidence of the week.

It was a wonderful trip. Thanks for inviting me along - the Ray boys are alright no matter what anybody says about them. I've been trying for years to get Omar to go on a trip and James says, "Omar we're going riding, pack your bags."

Omar cried a little when I struck up a conversation with this fellow - I don't think he got his tats at the mall. He was returning to Detroit from AL. He planned to make Detroit from Dalton, GA in one day on a '71 rigid frame with a '34 (iirc) knuckle head, foot clutch, and suicide shifter (all fab done by himself and friends). He looked like an outlaw biker, but spoke like a gentleman. (to our surprise and relief)

Not as impressive as the girl with beautiful eyes, but ...

Well it looks like parts of her may be "younger" than the rest. Good ole aftermarket upgrades.

Did you tell her your name was Backwoods?

Man it felt good riding to work this morning! Even with the soccer mom in a Altima trying to drive her progeny to school, while feeding it from the front seat, and going 10 under the speed limit... Even that couldn't damper how good the weather felt...

Oh, and happy birthday to Anticyclone... he's gotta be like older than me by now!!!!

My dad used to carry a Tennis ball on long rides and when he got behind someone paying attention to anything but the road, he'd back off a bit, and launch that ball at the back window, and laugh as they scrambled their way back to reality. He used an entirely different and much smaller ball for the ones that followed way to close....... let's just say those types usually found their 'bearings' after a skip off the pavement.....

If anyone is interested, I'm heading over to Hot Springs this weekend. Leaving Sat very early and coming back Sunday afternoon. I've got a "paid for" cabin at Lake Catherine State Park. Bring a bedroll and you can sleep for free. (there was only one, single room cabin left). Room has full kitchen is that matters.

It's right at 300 miles there but scenic routes can be worked in. My plan is to get there, drop some weight in the room, rest for a short time and find some scenic miles around the Quachita/Hot Springs area. The next morning, head on back.

Good food and adult beverages as well as smart ass remarks to be fit in when appropriate. :)

If anyone is itchin' for a ride, here is your chance.

Dang something stinks at work this morning. Sitting out back wating on 8 to go in, trying to enjoy the cool morning air and I keep getting my nose raped by some nasty funk. The bad thing is I didn't get to ride to work because my middle girl left her kes and licens in my oldest girls car. Yep its in Starkville at state so I have to drive my truck all week. I feel like I'm in one of those honda avertisments. I want to ride!

Can't do the hot springs trip tho. Oldest daugther sent me a text needing more money for State Monday. I be broke right now.
