And two deaths recently as I understand from talking to the guys at the Kickstand yesterday. One South Jackson and one in Vicksburg. I don't like this trend.

Be careful out there. Had someone try to share a lane with me this morning crossing the spillway. The Trophy defended herself most effectively.

My brother inlaws brother was the guy hit by the hydro planing car while he was under the savannah St bridge getting out of the rain. He may lose his foot over the deal and at worst the leg to.

This is my second day to ride in this week and it has been stressful. Drivers today are at an all time worse. People just don't care and are to preoccupied in their vehicles to give a second look or even one look. It's not worth riding IMO just to dangerous but I needed some seat time this week so I'm risking my life in the process.

i truly don't see how y'all ride to work down there. I'll stick with my small town. We still have dumb drives just not as many to have to dodge.

One finger in the air and one on the horn, I don't make friends on my commute

Since Trophy asked, wasn't me. I've been in NC for work this week (no riding sadly).

Well that's good news... That it wasn't you, not the no riding part!

I think I am about to invest in a coupe Stebel AirHorns for my two road worthy bikes... If nothing else, I can scare the piss out of the inattentive drivers.

Not good but better then how I heard it, that he died. I hope he recovers. It has been weird lately. Yesterday I was driving (in my car) on I-55 about County Line and a car on the last next to me ran over a piece of 18 wheeler tire and threw it in my lane and broke a bumper mount and my fog light is dangling. Later on the way home a guy coming tword me on a 2 lane ran over a flat piece of metal and it flew up missing me thank goodness. Almost two in one day.

There was a second accident Saturday same location same circumstances and that rider did die. Point here is do not stop on I-55 south as ponding on the roadway can send cars off the road at anytime. It's an unsafe roadway on a dry day but deadly in the wet.

I go to drive a Porsche yesterday, Sometimes working at a funeral home has its perks. Anytime there's a car we have to line up that is a manual transmission and has a sensitive clutch they have to come get me to move it. So I get to drive all the cool sports cars around the parking lot.

ok ok back to motorcycle stuff.

Check the air in your rear tire. From a distance, it looked low as you passed me this morning.

New to the game

Hi everyone, my name is Sam Hall from Brookhaven MS. I'm 25 currently living in Brandon, and I bought a 2007 xt225 about a month ago. I work at UMC in the Cancer Institute doing research and my daily commute is much more pleasant on a bike. I finished a master's in Biology in May and I'm working for a year while applying to medical school. I'm trying to find some new hobbies this year while I have a chunk of time away from school. I have really become interested in the idea of dual sporting, even though I don't have the best bike or experience in that regard. If anyone would like to ride some trails in the Homochitto National Forest one weekend, I would certainly be interested. OR any trails around central MS..Sorry for the long post, I didn't know the best way to go about a proper introduction. PS thank you BackwoodsKLR for your quick response to my PM about the belhaven trail.

Welcome! I hope you will consider coming to the "Don't Fall Rally" in October. There is a thread on here about it with registration info. Good way to meet some of the locals and enjoy a nice weekend of camping and riding.
