You know, as many of us that feel lost, (me included) should get together with a couple folks who are knowledgeable and have class. Seriously, bring a few laptops and everyone bring their GPS. You can use the meeting rooms at the library or I'd even be willing to reserve the Laurelwood clubhouse.

If anyone wants to take n the teacher roll, speak up.

I'm about to leave for Tupelo to get a '94 DR650. I will most likely be on it all weekend.

We tried this one time before. We did a photo shop class and a GPS class. Not many made the GPS class, but I am game to try again.

Just loosen the definition of success and it will work fine. I do it all the time.

I'm in. BW, if you want to use the Laurelwood Clubhouse, it's free, I just need to find a date that it isn't reserved. Pretty basic with a kitchen, living room like sitting area and three round tables for groups. Whatever works, just trying to help.

Also, I can bring 1 laptop but don't currently have software on it worth a crap. I do have Microsoft Streets and Trips 2013 but haven't done a thing with it so I don't know if it's good or not.

I believe there is a guy called DcRainmaker who explains GPS equipment and he is a software developer by trade. He also describes somewhere in his threads how to take a gamin file and transfer to google earth to make overlays I will investigate further tomorrow I do have a few Garmins and one Suunto.
