Oh Hell the world is going to end. Roy we agree again. every time I've built a race motor I crank it up and take it easy on it till it's oprating temp. shut it down and let it cool. then fire it up ease it around until it's operating temp again then run the living hell out of it.

the funniest thing i've ever seen was John Deer tractor that was set up for a tractor pull, guy built the motor cranked it up revved it to the max and put cardboard over the radiator. it was smoking like crazy he let it do this till it's was really hot removed the cardboard chained it to a loaded log truck and drug it around the parking lot for 30 minuets with the breaks locked down on the 18 wheeler. when it stopped smoking the rings where set. this took around a hour.

i do not indorse that for a normal motor, but i do say once you've done 100 miles on a new bike ride it like you are going to ride it. the motor we just built on the little S-15 I have took 30 minutes to stop rattling with new lifters in it. I was careful with it for the first 150 miles after then. i drive it like anything else. everything but the cam and pistons is new in it.

but this is a new, expensive bike do what makes you feel right and keeps the warranty intact.

I will actually answer these smart ass remarks. LOL new bikes come with break in oil in them. that's why most say change it in 300 miles. I'm sure each brand of bike just uses what ever has their name on it.

Now as for a rebuild, use the same oil you are going to be running in it. that way you're not changing oils and the additives that different oil brands use.

Tires, good ones. you don't want to bust your ass wile ridding because your tires are bad right.

Seat, one with padding. just the bucket or even the frame and air box hurt to sit on.

No I'm going to go see if I can fix the speedometer in my newly revived hunk of junk S-15 truck.

So which helmet is best for break-in rides? Is there a different chain lube to use when breaking in the change to equalize the stretching and then change to a non breakin chain lube? How often do I check the muffler bearings during break in?

I might pay $500 extra for a power band since my bike is a little short in that department, but I compensate with more cow bell.

Do they sell these powerbands at the kickstand? I doubt I'll need one now that I unlocked level 2 break in RPM range....
