I was just getting pretty good at using Mapsource. Now I have to learn this crap. They don't make it easy on us non technical guys.

So I started by BaseCamp to just play around with it and it said "An update has been downloaded. Click here to upgrade."

So I did...

After it uninstalled the version I had, it says the new one can only run on OSX 10.6 and I have 10.5... SCREW GARMIN and their crappy software!!!

It should check that before it downloads, much less installs the updates!!!

I have no idea what that means, but it sounds bad.

Roger that. I'm hanging on to mine as long as I can. Did you look in the GPS threads for any info?

I've looked at several threads but none of them seem to answer the basic function problems that I'm having. I haven't even begun to build complicated routes yet. I'm still trying to figure out the simplest of things, like: How to save routes, How to work with imported routes, How to name routes, How to separate routes. etc

I'm just completely lost.

You know, as many of us that feel lost, (me included) should get together with a couple folks who are knowledgeable and have class. Seriously, bring a few laptops and everyone bring their GPS. You can use the meeting rooms at the library or I'd even be willing to reserve the Laurelwood clubhouse.

If anyone wants to take n the teacher roll, speak up.

I'm about to leave for Tupelo to get a '94 DR650. I will most likely be on it all weekend.

We tried this one time before. We did a photo shop class and a GPS class. Not many made the GPS class, but I am game to try again.

Just loosen the definition of success and it will work fine. I do it all the time.

I'm in. BW, if you want to use the Laurelwood Clubhouse, it's free, I just need to find a date that it isn't reserved. Pretty basic with a kitchen, living room like sitting area and three round tables for groups. Whatever works, just trying to help.

Also, I can bring 1 laptop but don't currently have software on it worth a crap. I do have Microsoft Streets and Trips 2013 but haven't done a thing with it so I don't know if it's good or not.
