Hey guys, I need some advice. I received a trade offer for a black 2006 Buell Ulysses with 22,000 miles. It would be an even swap for my Honda. It has a new battery, stator, and voltage regulator. Are there any issues with these bike that I need to be aware of and what are your thoughts on the bike overall?

I think you would come out ahead from a purely monetary standpoint with the trade.

That being said, ask 990trailblazer about the Uly. I'd love to have one, but doubt I could live with it as an only bike. It seems too street focused for me.

I don't have any aspirations of riding single track on it. It's gonna be a pavement and fire road bike if I get it. If I get this job in AK I'm gonna buy a WR250R for heavy dirt stuff and the Buell would be my daily driver.

I think it's a good bike for the riding you'r planning. Some issues with the charging system mostly caused by a faulty connection (google the 77 connector) Some have broken the throttle body shaft after 40k miles.
Lots of good things like 45+ MPG, no valve adjustment, easy air filter access, drive belt lasts forever, great brakes, good suspension, good seat and riding position.
Mine has been on everything from 2 up touring out west to single track in montana. All in all I'd say a very versatile bike.

It's pretty rough for me. found out just how bad out of shape I am. My legs turned to jello and burn like fire, knee gave out. I'm ready to stick to things with motors and brakes... the stairs to get to the condo is currently a major challenge. But I can check it off the bucket list.
