when i came back from b-ham with that wedding dress on the back i didn't come under 80 and it got 70mpg. and i get around 50 to 56 trace normal 2 lain stuff. back and forth to work it gets just under 50. but it's not even warming up good in 5 miles.

and i normally shift at the 4500 to 5k range, that's the sweet spot, and I put a cramp buster on it to help with my right hand hurting so bad, i haven't got to ride it over 2 miles with it on there but it alows me to relax my grip enough to let my fingers have a break. I have come to the conclusion that its a old injury causing my pain, i tore a ligiment in that hand years ago and that's where it starts hurting and ends up making everything but my pinky hurt from middle of my forearm.

Your 70 mpg is suspect - possibly down hill with a tail wind. In 88k miles I couldn't get over 53 mpg at lower speeds. Never coming under 80 would be low 40's for me. Of course there is a huge mass difference and surface area difference between us.. I would expect you to get better mileage than me since I look like a 250 lb sail on top of the bike.

I spent a number of years at the speed limit or under on the highway and slow back road riding on that bike learning how to ride and didn't see a much of a drop in mileage when I went slightly faster up to my usual 5+ over the speed limit cruising pace. That bike spent most of it's life under 5500 rpm when traveling and probably under 4500 rpm's on back roads.

I had a magic ride on the NC that gave me 83 mpg. I know something was wrong like the gas pump calibration or I didn't fill it exactly the same. I do know it wasn't a 200 mile run so it was probably only half empty or less than 2 gals to fill it so it doesn't take much of an error to distort the gas mileage.

I am always blown away by my mileage in the mountains. Lower top speeds combined with lots of downhill I suppose. The tiger got over 65 mpg a time or two.

well the wedding went off with out any problems, thank you again Wolfy and wife for coming and snapping pictures,

and it might have been the way the bags and dress where tied on the bike, maybe it made it more aerodynamic. but I know it got hella millage cause I camy all teh way back from B-ham to my house none stop, and had over a quarter tank left in it, and checked the millage the next week when I filled up and it was over 70mpg. I think it came out to 72mpg actully. but with me and Stef on it it gets in the 55 to 65mpg range.

You got it man, and at the risk of a sneak peak, I thought I'd share this one, as I found it particularly funny. I dressed it up a bit for Sam since he felt like he got stuck wearing the green lantern shirt!

I've hit 80mpg a few times on my F650 riding the Trace and BRP. Normally b/t 65 - 70 mpg, even riding with this group. When I rode, anyway. (Figured I would throw that out b4 the p-nut gallery chimed in.)
