Stevens Pass Area Snow Level Report

Met up with JW Mudd in Monroe at 7:00 AM Saturday the 6th.
Destination:
Reiter and points beyond.
We hacked our way up the Zig Zag trail to the Cell towers up Nf6010

Then up to the second set of towers at the end of Nf222

The roads were free of snow and the gate open higher up on Nf6010.

Then back tracked to Index/Reiter rd to Index.

We slabbed up to the Jacks Pass turn off just West of Skykomish.

We made Jacks pass via Beckler River Road without a trace of snow and scouted Nf(s) 6550, 6554 and 6574.

High points on each Nf:
Nf 6550 2036'
Nf 6554 2580'
Nf 6574 2989'

Each elevation posted represents our turn around where we encountered snow.

Back down to US2 and West towards the Old Stevens Pass Highway. Ventured up Nf 6710 to a CLOSED GATE at 3531'!

NO WE DID NOT POACH IT! It was tempting though

Back down to the old highway and West to a high point of 3564'. More snow!

We cruised over to the East side of Stevens Pass to Nf6700.
YUP
More snow.
Made it to 3637'

And one tree/snow crossing.

Fun half day. Door to door 228 miles.

Didn't run across anyone almost sliding down the mountain in a 4X4 did you?
