Was in Wild wood motor sports the other day

To pick up the luggage rack I ordered for my bike. What's right next to the service counter than a brand new 1200GS Adventurer fully loaded. i just about slipped on my drool.Alas it is well out of my price range.

More likely my next bike will be a KLR 650 with a 705 upgrade. Thanks to Pifflenaster. His is AWESOME! And a hell of alot more affordable. Not that I'm buying his bike or anything! Just saying that it's a great option for a DS.

Well I guess I'll have to make 2014 as a goal for a DS, whatever it is.

OK I think I'm starting to babble so I'll leave it there.

Later

Was my 800 sitting beside it still?

Hi guys, met some of you over last two years, appreciate ya'll being so welcoming. Sorry to say g'bye but I'm going to be moving south (way south - to Florida). Faced with issue that I thought maybe someone out there has experience with... moving to the US with a Canadian KLR, getting it licenced in the US. Might any of you have experience with that? Really appreciate any leads.

Scott.

Hi Scott,
I have no experience with the export process, however, a quick Google search reveals this...
http://www.bordercenter.org/chem/vehicles.htm
So, it doesn't sound like it's too onerous...

Cheers, Brian

PS. Stay connected, as I may want a host for an overnight stay this winter. :-)

Through some crafty negotiations , it appears I may have 5 days for a moto-trip this summer.

Looks like some folks went to the Central Rally last year...how was that?

I've always wanted to experience Sturgis...

of course there are the NWO rallies in spring and fall

A loop of Superior...

Any other good ideas or recommendations?

Where is the central rally?

A group of us in Dryden are planing a round Lake Superior trip early or mid September with a visit to the Northern Ontario Rally at the start or finish of it depending on our ride timing.

ohya, a loop of Superior is also on the list of potentials.

The Central Rally was held in Eagle River WIS.

" they have paved logging roads there" there was also some great off road trips, organized by the rally people... I think ...I enjoyed the night life too much. Check the thread in ADV Rally's.

So Humvee, here ya go...." so many places and so little time" where have ya heard that before?

I tried this back in 2000 when I moved to VA. Didn't go so well and if weren't for a very understanding DMV agent, who bent the rules for me, I would have had a very expensive two-wheeled paperweight.

There is a specific import process, which I didn't follow and still don't know, that needs to be followed. Calling the Pembina US border office would probably demystify things if you aren't able to find enough detail online.

If you don't mind being seen with a Kenora person, keep me in the loop on this one. Around Superior is on my "to do" list.

Will do. Do not have a firm date in mind but it will be early to mid Sept. I would like to make the weekend of the Northern rally a starting or ending point on the ride but will see what happens.
