Keep in mind....all motorcycles will now be lumped into one category when this type of incident happens.

Shame on you if any in this group were ADV riders.
Hey, I can prove I was in Kelowna!
There are squids out here too. It's a shame as Backroader says that we'll all be lumped together.
MPI rates will probably go up again...

I love some of the ignorant tar'n'feathering going on in the comments (on the freeP site).

Doesn't excuse the reckless behaviour of the riders, however. They certainly have no cause to complain about their insurance rates.

And I can't count the number of times I've been doing an indicated 110 on the perimeter and had a car or truck blow by me like I was going backwards; summer and winter both.

I'd like to believe that MOST motorcyclists are better car drivers than the average car driver, just because we are more in the habit of being mindful of what we're doing on the road.

Free Press pictures

I happened to see a picture in the Free Press of bikes at the Mona Lisa restaurant from last week......in the foreground is a bike with an ADV decal on the windshield. Who's proud mount would that one be?

I haven't seen the pic, but I drove by around 6:30 and pretty sure I saw Greg and his GS parked beside the building.

If the cops give chase, eventually somebody will come off their bike. This pic looks a little like the cruiser pulled in front of the bike and was hit on the right front fender. Not saying bikes should speed, but what's next? Spike belts? Is somebody's life worth catching a speeder? I think not. Lets consider the "crime" her. And the "punishment". Should a bike be crashed into for a speeding ticket? Possibly injury....or worse? I know several cops. Their attitude is: "We'll get them next time..."
The American cops aren't allowed to confront more than 4 bikes.

I could've wheelied right over his hood RCMP are a notch above the regular law...so they think

Saw 3 highpowered bikes doing the same thing down a busy street here in TBay yesterday...except no one was chasing them...all this will do is jack up bike insurance. I know you guys in the Peg are already paying too much! It's those damn guys on the KLR's I'm sure of it

I agree there's not much point in trying to chase a sport bike with a car, but it'd be nice to be able to something about the F'n juvenile kid riders who continue to race their bikes on the streets crashing into others and causing injuries. Then we all are left paying for their medical bills and repair bills. It seems most, not all, are a bunch of idiots when they get together on their bikes.

just want to point out that speeding idiots don't speak for all of us sports bike riders... although they do make up a disturbingly high percentage of us. ><

Absolutely.....I know not all sport bike riders are like that. It takes a small percentile to give all riders a bad name.

Agreed. My wife told me about this story, I was shaking my head as I read it... and shaking it some more at the comments. Looks like the riding community could use some good PR right now.
