Anyone on here from Winnipeg have a Pacific Coast (PC800)? They are strangely intriguing.

Drained/flushed/refilled the KLR with pink Volvo coolant today. Only the best for my bikes! (plus, it was free).

Carl, if you see this message tonight (Friday), Jack and I think of meeting you guys tomorrow around north of the black hills area (Sturgis, dead wood etc.) I emailed Mark on this too.
Not sure if you are planing riding up that way, if not, we will see you in the hotel.
Safe ride!

I looked at one a long time ago...and thought the same thing. Intriguing, and the only reason I didn't buy one was circumstances in my life changed.

By the time I was interested in a similar machine, the Superscooters, (like Whyswoman rides) had come out.

The wife and I put 27k on a Burger, two up, but life changed again, and we haven't done much riding together for a while.

day 1

Hello MB friends. Mark and I had a full day of riding today, starting out towards Hill City, for a quick breakfast at a gas station. We are not fussy apparently when it comes to eating establishments. As we were standing around a Guy on a Yamaha 250 turned around and asked if we were Canadian. He was the Guy mark had been emailing about riding in the black hills. We are meeting him for breakfast Sunday and he is going to show us around. We spent the morning riding back roads north of hill city and really enjoyed it. Mark is going post a picture of the ride. The afternoon was spent running up and down various paved roads with a quick stop at Yamaha n sturgis. Dinner back at Keystone and a couple of beers in a cool bar called The Red Garter. Great day, and some much needed sleep is in order. Cheers!

Black hills ride

Day1 rode some forestry trails that were super ......until the 90 degree plus temps drove us to the paved roads so we could cool down a bit. Vanocker canyon was the answer High, fast and cool. The pic is from Slate damn road

Tech Day Garburator...

I'll have two garburator covers ready to go, however the 2' bimetalic hole saws are consumed fairly quickly, so to be safe, bring your own to tech day. I have the arbor and guide to attach them.

See you at DCMDs shop on the 29th. I'll be there at 0830.
Cheers, Brian

I bought one here locally a few years ago (3?) for a friend in Edmonton. As a consequence I test rode it for him, and got to ride it a few times afterwards. Very different feeling machine - very unmotorcycle like actually! They are surprisingly good handling and well mannered touring machines, but quite gutless. My friends got amazing fuel mileage - like 60-70 mpg! The trunk (yes trunk) swallows a lot of stuff BTW.

Hmmm. You didn't happen to get that from a guy in Elmwood area (near Louise Bridge)?

Re that PC800

Yup, that's the one. My buddy just sold it to a guy in Saskatoon after riding the heck out of it for 3 years. The only thing he'd needed to address was loose steering head bearings. Other than that it was appliance like as intended. My friend contacted previous owner (not the seller who wasn't entirely honest about things) and got the background on the bike. PM me if you've got a story regarding this... Here's the two of us on a road trip together to Waterton back in 2010. I was riding an 82 GL1100 Goldwing back then.

Hah, Small world. I got my Goldwing from that same Elmwood guy - he told me he had a PC800 that he sold to get the Goldwing.

PM sent!

OK will pick one up. Is it a 2 inch exactly or 2 1/8 ( I read 2 1/8 on an online forum somewhere)?

My brother had one for about 5 years. Sold it last year. Bullet proof reliable. Rumor has it the bike was originally a design exercise by the Honda automobile engineers and Honda liked it enough to try and market it. The plastic assembles more car like than motorcycle too. Amazing wind protection. In 2008 on a visit to his house in Alberta he gave it to me for a week and I took it to Sunshine Coast and back. I would not hesitate to take one of them on a long trip. Very comfortable.

Either will work, though the 2 1/8" makes it easier to get the tweetie out if it's been split.
